This thread interests me a great deal, and I'd like to broaden it a little if I may by referencing a story from the Islamic tradition, specifically how Iblis became Satan. There are significant similarities with Ezekiel 28, and also to some extent the Book of Job. Also, I find how this story refers to the four elements (as they would've been regarded in antiquity) to be quite insighful:

"If you already know it is bad and do it, you commit a sin difficult to redress."

I find this sort of thing interesting as well. Youtube channel “midnight ride” with Jon Pounders and David Carrico covers many topics related to this, I think I watched near all of them. I won’t go as far as saying they are right or wrong on these topics, but their depth of knowledge and research with the bible and other sacred text are second to none.

Here’s a sample and one of my favorite episodes:

Interesting story. I think I’ve heard another one of this guy’s video.

Seems you are referring to Revelations 12:7 “And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled”.

Maybe, I think that it might even be based on some sort of real events that might've happened too.

This may be a little bit off on a tangent but might anyone on here be familiar with aspects of the Islamic tradition on this topic? Specifically, a question arises for me: in the short video I linked above it states that Iblis was created from fire and air, and Adam from earth and water. Yet when Iblis himself speaks in the story he only refers to fire and clay:

“I am better than he; You created me from fire, and You created him from clay.”

I'm wondering: Are fire and earth regarded as the dominant elements of each creature in this story?

Any help with this query would be much appreciated
