These people can't make anything worthwhile...all they can do is suck energy out of people. I'm sick of all of em! xD That's why I continue to work on my forum. I myself am banned on YouTube, banned on Facebook, soon to be banned off probably the internet in general. Good luck to all of us who have sanity in our heads!
Thats because they are controlled by the Liberal Media, especially Facebook.......Social Networking is a Liberal Media nightmare! The media and the government control what you see and read on most of these social sites.

I'm skeptical of anything coming from YouTube at this point. Hopefully it, and other big tech sites, go away and we can have a re-surgence of old Internet style content and forums, etc.

I don't believe that old style bulletin board forums will make a resurgence unless there is an adequate effort to federate them with the ActivityPub protocol.

Reddit style link aggregators have already enjoyed such a liberation through the Lemmy project. The network of Lemmy instances has been growing healthily.

Twitter style microblogging has already enjoyed such a liberation through the Mastodon project as well as Pleroma, Akkoma and others. Masto*/*oma is already quite huge.

Peertube is a functional federated replacement for Youtube, but due to the costs involved in hosting video content, Peertube has not seen quite the same success as other federated ActivityPub projects.

Nothing exists yet for bulletin board forums such as this one. For now, we have to live with an isolated island wherein the reach of our voices is limited. I sometimes think about going back on the Mastodon part of the fediverse but I utterly despise the twitter microblog format.

I was on various Pleroma sites Fediverse for a time, really enjoyed it but social media moves too fast for me and I prefer the slow paced forums instead. Glad to hear there is a Reddit alternative growing, Reddit is horrible. I despise the twitter format too, people seem to love it but like I say, its too fast-paced and encourages drive-by shitposting over longform posts. Its probably a blessing in disguise all these YouTube alternatives are niche right now. Man speaking truth gets 20 views, then deplatformed; a "man" reviewing pizza and eating pizza gets millions of views LOL. Sick world
