why aren't more people speaking out or standing up?

Post by greatwing25 »

Maybe because this is what people are up against. You don't need to see it if you can smell it. Maybe there is a difference between being on the field and sitting with a computer. Maybe it makes more sense to go the Matma Ghandi way, if you want change. Or maybe find some of these guys and make them friends. I heard once there was a way to subdue a whole army or fight without anyone getting hurt. Or maybe find a good leader if they haven't attacked them all. Or just lose all the fear and come together. That is happening anyway.

There are many reasons, and they come and go depending on the individual. Some people probably find themselves in lulls of learned helplessness. Others may just be exhausted from speaking out and going against the grain. I don't fault anyone for shrugging their shoulders and going inward. Just because one may not find it within oneself to stand up right now, doesn't mean they can't muster the energy to do so when the time is right.

Guilty. I've found that being at protests and gatherings is not a strong point for me. I just don't have the social grace to engage people in realtime. I quietly distributed material, made my presence for the numbers, and moved on.

Great post BM! I agree, it is a very complex phenomena. We are not all equal and we have all had very different backgrounds, experiences and traumas that inform our abilities, our sense of being able to put your head above the parapet, and our belief systems which are all always a work in progress. There have been times where I have very much stood against every perceived injustice in my environment, but these days I choose my battles. I just don't have the energy to waste on inevitable and pointless attempts to 'convert people'.

In saying all that though, 'something' is stirring in me over the last couple of months, and I am not sure what that means or where it is taking me, but there is a renewed determination to put all my experiences and wisdom to work. I am not sure what that looks like as yet, but it is starting to rise as I have worked through a lot of shadow stuff over the last 12 months or so, as well as a lot of grief and old programming. But I don't blame those that feel paralysed or in too much fear perhaps to act, it is a brutal 'existence' on this 'Planet', and it can be enough to just hold it all together and survive this stuff.

I very much understand and can see how people react differently. I have been drained many times. The worst part, seeing that I could easily be left and have been left for 'dead', where I have done the courageous work without asking for anything to not only get uncaring responses, but a good amount of anger or judgement in those that do not want to know the truth. Or even competition or lunacy within the movement if someone wants to be right. I'm not even aggressive. Well it is too late now. Everything is moving to truth. Good for me and anyone else that knew things beforehand. I have had to heal many times for what others ignorance's have done. Not to mention what the state tests and does to citizens. Oh yes, very real. These things make it hard to help, and why would anyone want to help if they get nothing but a possible death threat? I am here to pass on as much info as I can for cataloging, urge people to get together if they can, but I am working on other projects, moving forward and moving on. By all means, I do not hate those that are part of the problem because I see they cannot even control themselves. The toxicity is through the roof just about everywhere. This does not mean we are perfect lightballs. I have had days where I had a hard time to forgive or deal with some ahole, but the key seems to be finding or having the right group with you.
