Types of Numerology

A lot of years ago Numerological knowledge varied according to the region, culture and time of the history. However, a lot of mathematicians used to appeal to numerological practices. They studied Numerology though for a long time it wasn′t considered a science, but gave the needed answers on the questions in some incomprehensible way. Numerological roots origin from Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Babylonian and Egyptian cultures. After the popularization of Numerology, Roman and Greek cultures adopted this knowledge and enriched it with unique vibes.

Pythagoras was a Greek philosopher and mathematician who created the Pythagorean system. He thought the reality to consist of mathematical processes. He was sure that the world is only a set of mathematical calculations. He claimed that everything around us can be explained by numbers, as each number has a certain vibration attached to it. Pythagoras was inspired by the studies of Plato and Socrates, developed the ideas of the wise. His point of view was studied by Christians including St. Augustine and gained popularity during the Renaissance.

3 major systems of Numerology are:

Chaldean Numerology

Chaldean Numerology has a lot of fans, as it can provide spiritual knowledge and lead you through very mystical and deep study. It is also an amazing option for those who like mathematics, as Chaldean numerology can show absolutely new approach in using numbers. The second name for it is Chaldean Gematria. It is a numerological technique that attaches the values of numbers to corresponding letters. This way we can decipher the signs the numbers give us.

Chaldean Gematria (another way to call it) is a numerological system that attributes values of numbers to letters, so people can define numerological signs. Nebuchadnezzar (Iraq today) was a place where the largest initial community of the Chaldean System existed.
This society had very strong prophetic abilities, however, it is also famous for its well developed religious structure. Chaldean culture left a legacy of the most strange and mysterious books, sacred readings and mythology. Later, in the 19th century these reading gained popularity in the occult circles. Nowadays, the occult traces of Chaldean culture exist no more, but its numerological system withstood the test of time and is very popular among numerologists. It is connected to astral aspects and spiritual connections.
How does it work?

Each letter has a particular number value from 1 to 8.
In Chaldean Numerology the name of the person is transformed into corresponding numbers. Each number obtains a certain vibration. In the end, the numerologists follow the vibrations of the name. Then comes the hardest part: to interpret the vibrations meaning.

For example, let’s take the commonly known name – Beth. At first, we look for a number value in this name. We have a special chart for this. Then you compare the letters to the numbers: B is 2, E is 5, T is 4 and H is 5. Add all of the numbers and you get 16. This number symbolizes the influence that leads Beth. A common practice for Numerology is to reduce two- or three-digit numbers to single-digit. Here we reduce 16 to 1+6 = 7. This number represents how others perceive Beth, her footprint and image according to others.

The meaning of the numbers:

Each number in Numerology means something and has a unique characteristic. It is easier to work with single-digit ones, as the meaning is absolute and less vagueness is present, so the person gets more understanding on what the numbers want to address.
0. The real talents of the person are not available yet. A lot of things around are fake and a great need to filter your words and connections is present.
1. Independent, confident and leading. The number of strength.
2. Adapting and agility, inner balance and unity.
3. Changing and developing situations in life, twist in life is coming.
4. Focused and determined state of mind, prosperity at work, increased sense of discipline.
5. Tendency to travelling and boosted creativity, love to independence.
6. Amazing tutor or consultant. The life filled with important activities.
7. Smart and reliable person, curious and with high moral values.
8. Determined, goal-oriented, seeking for financial stability and robust person.
Why is the Chaldean Numerology unique?

The uniqueness of Chaldean Numerology is that it has no letters assigned to number 9.The Chaldean culture believed number 9 to be sacred and very mystic. They thought that it is a number that always disappears. It is forbidden to use this number in calculations of Chaldean Numerology.
The Pythagorean Numerology borrowed some principles of Chaldean Numerology, but these types of Numerology are absolutely different. They read the vibrations in different ways; they have their own calculating systems. But nowadays Pythagorean numerology is very popular as it is easy and comprehensible and widely used by non-professionals.
One more thing to know about Chaldean Numerology is that it never neglects double-digits. Other systems tend to simplify the numbers so it is easier to calculate them, but Chaldeans stop and make an accent on it, and continue calculations. They believe that every number on your way is not random.

Pythagorean or Western Numerology
Pythagorean or Western Numerology.jpg
Pythagorean or Western Numerology.jpg (27.73 KiB) Viewed 3490 times
Western or Pythagorean Numerology system is one of the most popular systems nowadays. Lots of numerologists say that Chaldean system is the most precise, but still lots of people prefer to work with Pythagorean, as it is easy and understandable. It is simple in practice and studying.

The father of this type of Numerology is Pythagoras – the wise man of the Ancient Greece. He lived in the 6th century BC and famous as the philosopher and mathematician.

This approach to Numerology shows the type of your personality, your motives, aspirations, impulses that accompany you during your lifetime. It is possible to find out your inborn talents, characteristics, concepts using this method. This is the reason why we need to include the full name with middle name into the calculations, as the Pythagorean system does.

This system uses modern Latin alphabet. Every letter of the alphabet has a correspondent numerical value from 1 to 9. However, the letters K – number 11 and V – number 22 are not reduced, as they are master numbers.

When you try to calculate your numerological chart or any other number, it is needed to reduce the resulted number into single – digit to get the clearest reading of it. Pythagorean system works only with one – digits

This system contains 5 very important numbers. Two may be calculated using your birth date and three – through your name.

Life Path number: shows the road of your life and the possibilities and challenges waiting for you.

Name number:tells you about the power of your name.

The Soul number: revels your real feelings, concerns and the part of you which is available to you only.

Personality number: provides information about your image and reputation in the eyes of others.

Birthday Number: depicts what you let others know about yourself.

5 numbers give us a profound picture of who you are. But there is also a sixth number called Attitude number which gives us a hint on how to improve the way we live and be a happier person.

Attitude number : additional, but influential number that shows your disposition in life.

If your Attitude Number is not in harmony with your Life Path Number, then you will confuse the people in your life.

The highest importance among numbers takes Life Path number. It is a basic step to understand a person and get more needed information.

Positive and Negative Energy of Pythagorean Numerology:

Very often people are interested whether they are compatible with some people or not. These people mean not only romantic relationships, but also work, family, community, and others. Pythagorean system is accurate enough to provide this information and evaluate the level of harmony in person’s relationships.

The numbers in this system have positive and negative meaning at the same time. If for example your Life Path number matches the number of other person, it doesn’t mean that you will be in harmonious relationships, because either you or another person can manifest negative side of the number.

Even in cases when Life Path number is harmonious in both people there still can be some problems. Every number has two sides – positive and negative. If you expect the person to behave in a special way, you may bring out their negative energy out of the number. So this is a hint for you to expect only the best from people, it will reduce the chance of negative number manifestations. It can even become an important twist in your life. You deserve more than low expectations, so don’t hesitate to break these templates in your mind. Because when you know that you are compatible with someone, it is a time to give it a shot and expect only the best for yourself and your partner. ... system.php

Interesting indeed. Interested to go deeper into that topic. In my younger days I lived a year with some people who were really into kabbalah numerology. Learnt some, but personally I was more into other types of numerology:

Kabbalah Numerology

Kabbalah Numerology originated from the Hebrew culture. The right way to pronounce this word is ′Ka ba la′.

Background of Kabbalah Numerology
Kabbalah system was widely used in Hebrew spiritual sciences, and it mostly consists of Hebrew alphabet. ′Kabbalah′ means ′the intellectual work′, rather than the practical or body experience. Kabbalah system implies people to be really honest in order to get the insight.
Different numerological systems work with different information about the person. In case of Kabbalah system you will need only the name of the person. It is the reason why it is not popular among people, as it seems less efficient.

The method of Kabbalah System
Each and every letter of the alphabet symbolizes a particular value, as it is shown in the chart:
The method of Kabbalah System.jpg
The method of Kabbalah System.jpg (25.04 KiB) Viewed 2975 times
Hebrew alphabet is a foundation to find the numerical value of each sign. Only the most common numbers are usually taken into account, as the Kabbalah has more than 400 values. The main purpose is to find the right Kabbalah number for each person.

How to Find A Kabbalah Number
If you want to find your Kabbalah number pay attention to your first name. Then you need to calculate a numerical value of your name. If you have a middle name, include it into the calculation. Make a sum. You will have double-digit number that needs to be divided by 9. The digit that goes after whole number is called a remainder. Then you need to add 1 to your remainder and it will make your Kabbalah number.

Let your numerical value be 42. If you divide 42 by 9, you′ll get 6 as a remainder. Add 6+1 and your Kabbalah number will be 7. When your remainder is 0, in cases like 81 (the number is whole and doesn′t have a remainder) add 1 to 0. Kabbalah number in such cases will be 1.

The meaning of Kabbalah Number
Kabbalah number has a certain energy or vibe that synchronizes with certain number.

1 – Progress.
2 – Expansion.
3 – Love.
4 – Lack of fortune.
5 – Creation.
6 – Result.
7 – Spirit.
8 – Impulse.
9 – Fortune.

Why is it unique?
If you are an amateur or new to the systems of Numerology, Kabbalah may appear no different to you. Of course, speaking generally Numerology only calculates numbers. However, the differences exist and they are essential. Kabbalah uses only the name of the individual, ignoring the birth date, while other systems exclude name, but include the date.

The value of each number has also changes from system to system. If the letter B could have the same value in Kabbalah and Chaldean systems, it doesn’t mean that other letter coincide as well. Kabbalah Numerology has a huge range of numbers. It has approximately 400 various life path combinations that correspond to particular vibrations. It takes some skills and time to work with this system. Most of the numerologist elaborate the most common numbers and work this way.

If you find Kabbalah Numerology interesting, it is always a place here for you. The emphasis of this system is set on the honesty and sincerity of the person with oneself, the inner balance is obligatory.
If you are in balance with your inner and outer world, and feel self-sufficient – you will get maximum profit out of this system.

World Trade Center September 11th, 2001

A few very rich and powerful small interest groups instigated worldwide turmoil and fear on 9-11-01. These small interest groups are practitioners of black magik and worshippers of the anti-christ. These groups also worship these numbers by building rousing political speeches, mainstream press, and devastating events around them for their inherent meaning such as saying certain words, phrases, dates, and numbers by the elevens including the event of 9-11-01. To the end of giving birth to their anti-christ, they commit acts of atrocity around the world invariably according to their unholy "numbers" under the guise of "terrorist attacks" by their middle eastern pansies. It is important to understand the placement and meaning of these numbers in order to understand the ways of the illuminati.

World Trade Center After It Collapsed
Painting of Tower of Babel

Do you see any coincidence here?

This painting of the Tower of Babel with 7 layers
looks very much like what was left of the Tower in New York.

WTC Facts:

- The date of the attack: 9/11 - 9 + 1 + 1 = 11.
- Each building had 110 stories.
- After September 11th there are 111 days left to the end of the year.
- September 11th is the 254th day of the year: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11.
- 119 is the area code for Iraq/Iran. 1 + 1 + 9 = 11, 911 - 119 are opposites - enemies? 11 11 polarity.
- Twin Towers - standing side by side, looks like the number 11.
- The first plane to hit the towers was Flight 11.
- State of New York - The 11th State added to the Union.
- "New York City" has 11 letters.
- "Afghanistan" - 11 letters.
- "The Pentagon" - 11 letters.
- "Ramzi Yousef" - 11 letters (convicted of orchestrating the attack on the WTC in 1993).
- Flight 11 - 92 on board - 9 + 2 = 11.
- Flight 11 had 11 crew members on board.
- Flight 77 - 65 on board - 6 + 5 = 11.

"Kabalarians" is similar to the "Kabbalah Numerology" you mention...

I highly recommend it. When I was in university in the year 2000 I thought it worked really well. You can type in a name and it gives in depth and specific results.

Pytagorean Numerology or Western Numerology and how to find your core numbers

Numerology is probably the easiest occult science there is. Now I think it is time to un-occult this ancient science once and for all to understand the vibration of your numbers and discover your true self.
I have created an easy step by step to basic Pytagorean numerology

  • Life Path Number
  • Destiny number
  • Soul number
  • Personality Number
  • Maturity number
  • Birth day number
  • Current Name Number
In this post I will only introduce the basic of Pytagorean numerology and full interpretations of the vibrations of the numbers are both available on the internet and in huge volumes of literature, though I may add it in another post some other time. This particular post may serve as a way of help to get started. The easiest method is adding across - just add all the number in the birth date to reveal the core number. However I will use another method for the examples.

If your have an 11 or 22 you have Masternumbers and they will not be further reduced. This goes for all the calculation results. Masternumbers have a double or higher vibration to their core numbers and brings both freedom and responsibility (11/2 or 22/4). That being said, having a Masternumber does not mean one is being superior to someone with just a single digit core number.

The most important number in your numerology chart is your Life Path number. I will now show you the method I prefer. (As mentioned there are other methods to calculate and you may learn them by reading recommended reading in the bottom of this post)

Life Path Number:

Life Path number, also called just Birth Path or Birth Force Number or Ruling Number, reveals the path you are to walk in this life and the lessons to be learned.

To find your life path number you simply add the all numbers of your birth together until they are reduced to their core number (except when the number is 11 or 22)

(The first example here is the Life path of french revolutionist Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte and his full birth name which will be used as an example throughout the rest of the Numerology calculation examples.)

Example: (Single digit core numbers):
A person is born August 15 1796 (8-15-1796)
Step 1:
8 / 1+5 / 1+7+9+6 = 23
8 6 2+3

Step 2:
8+6+5 = 19
1+9= 10
1+0= 1 Life Path Number

- The independent individual and the leader

And example of Masternumbers:

Step 1:
A person is born January 3 1969( 1-3-1969)
1 / 3 / 1+9+6+9 = 25
1 3 2+5
Step 2:
1+3+7= 11 Life Path number/Master number 11/2

- The Inspirational Teacher who raises spiritual awareness for the greater good.

Example (Masternumber):
A person is born July 9 1950 (7-9-1950)

1 Step:
7 / 9 / 1-9-5-0- = 15
7 9 1+5

7+9+6 = 22 Life Path number/Master number

- The Master Builder who benefits humanity and bridges the spiritual and material worlds.

These three examples should help you figure out your Life Path number. Again remember that a masternumber does not mean that one should feel superior to someone who only has a single core number - It simply means, as stated above, a higher and a double vibration of their core numbers. Also masternumbers comes with both positives and negatives as it may add up more karmic debt, but that you have the tools to deal with it.

Next we will have a look at how to calculate your Destiny Number

Destiny number:

Your Destiny number also called Expression Number, Complete Name Number or just Name Number, is the second most important number in your numerology chart. It refers to your fullest potential and reveals your mission in this life.

To calculate your Destiny Number number simply add all the numbers from each letter of your full birth name. The name should be the same as on your birth certificate to be 100% correct.

Pythagorean numerology table.jpg

Napoleon Bonaparte ( The french revolutionist emperor whos famous quote is "History is a set of lies agreed upon"), which full birth name is Napoleone di Buonaparte, is the name I will use as an example all the way until "Current Name Number"

- The Contemplative Truth Seeker, someone who values their privacy and space, a philosophical individual who needs to discover the secrets and mysteries of the Universe.

Now, lets move on to one of my personal favorites to explore - Your Soul Number!

Soul Number:

Your Soul Number, also called Heart Desire Number and Soul Urge Number is the inner you, what your heart and your soul urge for, what motivates you and what you like and dislikes in this life time. Meditating and practicing yoga may give you that inner peace to get in touch with your Inner self connected to this number.

Now this time you only need to calculate the vowels of your full birth certificate name. ( A, E, I, O and U, and also sometimes Y depending of the pronouncement of your name)

Vowels: 1+6+5+6+5+ 1+ 3+6+1+1+5 = 40 4+0 = 4 Soul Number

- The Dedicated Worker, an individual of discipline who gives authoritative guidance, who seeks stability.

Then there is how to calculate your Personality Number

Personality Number:

Your Personality Number represent the outer you and is also of great importance to you in the world. This will reveal how you present yourself to the world and what you are willing to share of your personality.

To calculate your personality number, add the consonant of your full name from your birth certificate.

5+7+3+5+ 4+ 2+5+7+9+2 = 49 4+9= 13 1+3= 4 Personality Number

- The Dedicated hard worker and a responsible, honest and reliable individual who one can trust for their guidance and good judgement.

Next up is Maturity Number!

Maturity Number:

Your maturity number is a state of mind in your life that is not apparent before in your thirties and up until midlife. From that point on your Maturity number will play out. This is a very important number as it could be wise to know to plan your life carefully.

To calculate your maturity number simply add the digits of your Life Path Number and your Destiny Number.
1 Life Path Number + 7 Destiny Number 1+7= 8 Maturity Number

- The Business-Minded successful leader who manage and organizes projects and people.

The birth number is next in this little presentation on Pytagorean Numerology and it reveals the talent and gifts that you brought with you to help you fulfill your Life Path.

Birth Number:

Simply add the digits of your the day you were born. (This time if there is a 0 in your birth number, you may not reduce the number.)
15 is the birth day of our example. Simply add these together:
1+5= 6 Birth Day Number

- The Responsible Caregiver gifted with the ability to teach, love, nurture, heal, counsel and support others.

Current Name Number:

Due to the importance of the birth certificate name, this is more of an additional vibe to the vibrations of your Destiny Number. If your named has been changed after the birth name this may be added to your chart, but never replaced with your full birth name.
Simply calculate the same way as in the Destiny number.

The changed/new name: Napoleon Bonaparte

- The Dedicated Worker who has the strength to persevere and achieve your goals and to make a commitment to be more dedicated to relationships, a dream or a project, it also adds the ability to be more organized, economical, disciplined and focused to achieve the result you need on a solid foundation.

Among numerous books and several internet websites I recommend to check out "The Numerology Guidebook" by numerologist Michelle Buchanan(you may also find it on pdf) and to visit by Michael McClain.

Thank you!

Oh, well that's relieving!! I just saw 6 6 and 6 and then panicked, as what are the chances? I didn't know what the numbers actually meant. Also, my Birth # is either an 11 or a 2, not sure if we reduce the 11 on this occasion. And thanks for the clarification, but don't you think there is something ominous about having 666 as your primary numbers?? I can't help but have this cursed feeling now, the same way the numbers 111 follow me around everywhere.

No worries :) You may not reduce 11 as it is a Masternumber, at the same time it means having a higher vibration of the core number which is 2. Having 11/2 as Birth number further reveals and emphasises that you are a caregiver, but also that you may have to learn to trust even more in yourself and find the perfect balance between giving and receiving :)

This short book "Numbers, Their Occult Power and Mystic Virtues"
by W. Wynn Westcott is not exactly a book on numerology, though numerology is indeed mentioned. This book serves as way of digging deeper into the understanding and the meaning of the vibration of numbers. Enjoy!
