everything sound on that video but 2 points
1. using the sextant for stars below 20degrees is frowned upon due to the light being affected by the air at that elevation angle and below
2. celestial navigation is not the same as trigonometry. So at 29min ishly Celestial Nav (CN) is conflated with being able to measure the height of objects in the sky. Wrong. Cant be done and shouldnt be expected to be done.

keep this in mind --- the ground positions of stars (the 90 degree position ) have been mapped by sailors over many thousands of years. Sailors have traversed the seas and plotted the stars and the time/day for the GP. NEVER has anyone plotted the vertical position of the celestial bodies according to time and day.
sailors travel the flat level plane of earth
no one has travelled a vertical plane from earth and mapped a 'datum position' of the stars

so... when in CN the sky minutes (nautical miles) are calculated using 90 minus elevation angle and then times by 60 on the horizontal axis.
there is no calculation known for the the vertical axis.

it is impossible to transpose the converted standard miles to the vertical of a triangle
