Wondering if anyone can help a noob get familiar with setting up a wallet and purchasing coins? Am following a few faces who have suggested piratechain/monero but am abit confused trying to get started.

I’m a noob too. Setting up the wallet is easy, Cake Wallet is good. Trade Orge is a good exchange, they don’t require KYC. Avoid any exchange that requires a bunch of identification. I have a friend who knows the ins and outs, and did a lot of trial and error.

Ah yes Piratechain is a good one to. A lot of hype behind it but watch out bc it will get ruff. Some miners shut down in China bc of the floods there and bam 20% drop and the highest liquidations ever so please stay away from leverage. I am not good at it also andit takes alot of time bc you need to babysit these but buying spot is ok. Best is to install Metamask in your browser. Make sure it is the real deal and from there you can do al in DeFi. For Binance and such that is an exchange, you need to make a login there. Go nowhere else bc scam is very high in bull-markets of Bitcoin. Be aware. Then if you got the good metamask https://twitter.com/RichardHeartWin/sta ... 2216306688 and watch out for shitcoins like https://twitter.com/RichardHeartWin/sta ... 97/photo/1 , then you can make an unique ETH address. Then you need to get ETH in that. There are many ways but I did it trough Coinbase but also Binance you can buy with Visa I believe and others. Never done that but that Exchange is trustworthy (for now). Then you have ETH in your wallet and then you can go to https://www.dextools.io to search for that coin. Make sure that you have the correct one bc here also a lot of scam. You can do that to go to ETH explorer and look for Piratechain ETH contract and that needs to be the same when you buy that coin. Then you have 100% the correct one and just follow the chart but not to much. One time a day or so and if it dumps a little do not scare nor sell bc a lot dump to get the weak hands out but you need also to have some good news resource bc if it is a scam, or the team does something not good or the coin is 51% attacked, name it... then you need to get out and never look back. Good luck!

This all sounds really good, but I wonder what will happen if the ‘net goes down; the whole lot; won’t that leave you high and dry?
Is there a way around this?

There could indeed be a cyber polygon style shutdown of the internet but I think it's worth the gamble for how cheap some coins are now and how much profit it's possible to make. I don't mind losing a couple of hundred for the chance of making a couple of thousand.

Glad for this post because I’ve been considering buying some piratechain but absolutely no idea what I’m doing.
