The Wall is such a great film.

One of my favorite songs/moments in the movie is the song

Nobody Home

At the very beginning we get this cruel adult shaming a child for having feelings and a soul,

as he mocks the boy in front of the whole class, "I've got a little black book with his poems in!"

And then the intro to the song is this incredibly soft gentle piano, and the first lyrics are,

"I've got a little black book with my poems in..."

Just brilliant.

Death metal could be the most extreme form of hardrock music. At the turn of the millenium, Slipknot was the most popular "death metal" band (with "nu metal influences", produced by Ross Robinson).

Almost a ballad by Slipknot standards!

What happened to this kind of energy that existed before COVID?
If you can tolerate this song or start about the 1:00 mark ;-)

Operation Ivy: Here we go again

Tensions in our lives that destroy our minds
Unite themselves together
Makes our consciousness blind
Conditioned to self interests with emotions locked away
If that's what they call normal then I'd rather be insane

This song seems more relevant now, given the situation of the world.
